We are looking to recruit a Lead Telecom Engineer on a 12-month contract based in Leatherhead, Surrey.

Responsibilities / Experience
* The Lead Telecommunications Engineer will be experienced in multi-discipline engineering teams on mainly oil & gas industry greenfield / brownfield projects. Projects ranging from conceptual studies, FEED, and detailed design to complete installations.
* The engineer should have successful delivery experience in telecommunications systems, developing client technical requirements into commercial design solutions. Telecommunications systems including:
o Aeronautical navigation and communications systems
o CCTV systems
o Data networks
o Marine navaids and communications systems
o Optical fibre communications systems
o Public address and general alarm systems
o Radio systems
o Satellite communications systems
* Hands-on project experience in designing telecommunications solutions for offshore or onshore is essential.
* Develop philosophies, specifications, block drawings, and datasheets for all systems.
* Support the development of drawings, layouts, cable routing drawings, cable schedules, interconnection & termination diagrams, telecom installation drawings, scope of works, RFQs, and material requests.
* Review telecommunications vendor documentation and interface between package vendors.
* Design experience on a greenfield project is preferred.
* Awareness of national and international standards, Shell Oil company standards, and standards such as IEC, IMO, ICAO, BSI, ETSI, UKOOA, NORSOK, and ANATEL.
