Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
Location: Secondary School, Northamptonshire
Salary: Grade F or equivalent (depending on experience and qualification)
Contract Type: Term Time Only, Full-Time

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and confident Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to support students’ learning across the curriculum and contribute to high standards of teaching and inclusion. You will work closely with classroom teachers to support students with a range of abilities and needs, and you will also lead small group sessions and cover whole-class teaching when necessary.
This role requires flexibility, strong subject knowledge, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. You will be part of a committed and compassionate team focused on helping all students thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver planned lessons and intervention groups under the direction of teaching staff
* Support students with SEND, including EHCP targets and one-to-one support
* Cover classes in the absence of the teacher (short-term or planned)
* Monitor and record student progress and provide feedback
* Contribute to pastoral support and behaviour management strategies
About You:
* HLTA qualification or equivalent Level 4+ teaching support training
* Experience of supporting learners in a secondary school setting
* Confident leading a class or small group
* Strong literacy, numeracy and ICT skills
* A proactive and child-centred approach
