A Leading Education Recruitment Agency is recruiting Behaviour Mentors to work across mainstream primary and secondary schools, SEMH provisions, and alternative settings in Golders Green. These roles support pupils who present with emotional dysregulation, challenging behaviour, anxiety, and disengagement from learning, often linked to trauma or unmet additional needs.
Role Overview
As a Behaviour Mentor in Golders Green, you will provide consistent and structured support to pupils who require clear boundaries, emotional reassurance, and positive adult guidance. Many pupils struggle with emotional regulation, impulsivity, or social interaction, and benefit greatly from stable, trusted relationships with Behaviour Mentors.
You may support pupils 1:1, work with small groups, or assist across classrooms. Some placements involve supporting pupils during transitions, unstructured times, or reintegration following behaviour incidents or exclusions.
Responsibilities
* Provide targeted behaviour and emotional support
* Support pupils to recognise emotional triggers and develop coping strategies
* Use calm de-escalation techniques and restorative practices
* Reinforce school routines, expectations, and boundaries
* Support pupils’ engagement with learning
* Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils
* Liaise with teachers, SENCOs, pastoral teams, and parents where appropriate
* Maintain accurate behaviour and safeguarding records
