Role Purpose:
The primary purpose of this role is to underwrite Property and Liability risks for Real Estate clients, ranging from lower mid-market or single property risks to large scheduled & Major Accounts / multinational clients. Initially, the focus will be on new business, with some renewal management over time.
The geographical scope includes UK Regions (supporting offices in Glasgow, Newcastle, Leeds, Manchester, Birmingham, Maidstone) and some London broker business. The successful candidate will collaborate with our UKI distribution team and local property managers, developing key broker and client relationships.
The role involves working closely with claims, risk engineering, and global services teams to provide excellent service. Collaboration with other underwriting teams for cross-line solutions is also essential.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Underwriting: Underwrite new business and renewal accounts according to defined guidelines and strategies.
2. Financial: Contribute to achieving the Real Estate financial plan.
3. Compliance and Procedures: Ensure adherence to company standards regarding policy documentation, contract certainty, peer review, audit, legal, and regulatory requirements.
4. Chubb Representation: Promote Chubb to brokers and clients, and represent the Real Estate team at internal meetings.
5. Business Development: Build relationships with key brokers and clients to ensure profitable growth, working with distribution and stakeholders.
6. Cross-selling: Maximize cross-selling opportunities through collaboration with colleagues.
Qualifications
Skills & Experience:
* Good knowledge of the insurance market, with experience dealing with brokers and clients.
* Results-driven with decision-making ability and initiative.
* Desire to develop technical and business skills.
* Property underwriting experience is essential; liability experience is a plus.
* Experience working with Real Estate clients and brokers is advantageous.
* Multinational experience is beneficial but not required; training will be provided.
