We are looking for a Patient flow coordinator to work in our Diagnostic department .
This is a key role, working alongside the clinical and non clinical team, to ensure the smooth running and effective flow of patients through Paragon Referrals, from the point of admission to that of discharge. We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic person. The Patient flow coordinator should promote good staff morale and a positive culture and motivate the whole nursing team to embrace Paragon Referrals’ Core Values with the overall goal of achieving a clinically excellent veterinary standards throughout the practice.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Ensure that you are a Culture Leader – exhibiting awareness of and adherence to Core Values. Be a positive presence in the workplace.
2. Liaise between the nursing team and all other teams within the practice and group to ensure effective lines of communication at all times.
3. Lead by example and demonstrate the highest professional standards.
4. Demonstrate an understanding of staff motivation and team working. Be willing to undertake further training where necessary to support this role.
5. Provide encouragement and support the veterinary team.
6. Promote practice and group policies and guidelines that apply to all associates.
7. Recognise when another team member requires assistance and act on this.
Clinical
8. Your primary role is to liaise with all services to coordinate veterinary procedures and patient movements, ensuring all admission and treatment plans are completed by the vet in an efficient and timely manner.
9. Create systems for patient flow to improve efficiency within the hospital, review and adjust as necessary
10. Encourage the reporting of critical incidents via Halo.
11. Clinical Governance – identify areas affecting patient flow are problematic and perform audits as appropriate to identify areas for improvement and training
Desired skills
12. 3+yrs in Clinical veterinary Practice
13. 1-2 years’ experience in a multi-disciplinary hospital
14. Experience communicating to a large a team
15. Quick learner, able to adapt to a dynamic environment
Required
16. RCVS Registered Veterinary Nurse
17. Evidence of CPD/career progression to date
18. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
19. Ability to use word-processing programs
20. Excellent time management, prioritisation and organisational skills
21. Remains calm under pressure and solves problems
22. Knowledge of Excel or other data sheets
