They are launching a new non-ferrous metal yard in Birmingham as part of their ongoing expansion plans. The Non-Ferrous Metal Buyer will play a pivotal role in establishing and driving buying operations at our new Birmingham yard. The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing non-ferrous metals, developing robust sales pipelines, and building strong relationships with local organisations and suppliers. This position is instrumental to the success and growth of our new facility.
* Minimum 3 years of commercial buying experience focused on non-ferrous metals within the Birmingham area.
* Strong professional connections and networks in the local industry.
* Ability to purchase from the public through established professional channels.
* Valid UK driver’s license and access to own vehicle.
* Proven ability to build sales pipelines and develop relationships with local organisations.
* Sound knowledge of non-ferrous metals, market pricing, and recycling yard operations.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
* Previous sales experience is essential.
* Background working with competitors such as EMR or Sims.
* Experience in buying roles within the metal recycling sector.

* Lead the buying operations for non-ferrous metals at the Birmingham yard.
* Source material from commercial suppliers and the public via professional channels.
* Develop and maintain sales pipelines to ensure consistent supply and growth.

Salary & Benefits
* £27,000 to £30,000 per annum basic salary
