At Turning Point, we support people across the UK with mental health issues. As a Recovery Worker, you'll make a real difference to their lives as you drive and motivate our staff to deliver a service that's unmatched. Passionate about people, you'll enjoy the scope and support to enhance your own life and career too.

Role Responsibility

The Recovery Worker role at the Manchester Short Stay Service involves jointly managing a residential project, which supports service users with severe and enduring mental health needs who have recently been discharged from hospital. The aim of the project is to support service users to make a smooth transition into living in their own accommodation.

The role involves assessing new referrals, conducting risk assessments and updating and implementing support plans, with a focus on supporting service users to move into their own accommodation.

The service is staffed Monday to Friday during office hours, though of course flexibility may be required occasionally due to the nature of the service and client group. The service also continues to operate on public holidays including over the Christmas period.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a candidate with extensive experience working in the Mental Health field, and some experience in housing-related support would also be a big advantage. The ideal candidate will be comfortable taking initiative and managing their own time effectively in order to ensure that the service users are supported effectively. Full training is provided in order for the successful candidate to work safely, to learn and develop within the role and beyond.
