About the Role:
Our client, a business brokerage and M&A consultancy specializing in small to medium-sized business sales, seeks a proactive Buy-Side Analyst to join their team. The firm assists small and mid-sized business owners across the UK with company sales and acquisitions. As part of an international network but independently owned, the business combines a strong global platform with a close-knit, family-run environment.
In this role, you will act as the main contact for all buyer and investor activities. Supporting the deal team, you'll research, identify, and contact potential buyers and investors. This is a permanent, office-based position in London, offering clear opportunities for professional growth and direct collaboration with the Managing Director. We are seeking a commercially minded and analytically strong individual to support pipeline management, investor engagement, and transaction execution. This is an excellent opportunity for someone aiming to build a career in corporate finance and private markets, with exposure from deal origination to completion. Ideal candidates will have experience in research, analysis, pipeline management, CRM tools, and proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Key Responsibilities
* Pipeline & Buyer Management: Maintain and update buyer pipelines for current and prospective mandates. Manage buyer inquiries via CRM and marketing platforms. Screen, qualify, and prioritize leads. Build strong relationships with key buyers, including strategic acquirers, private equity firms, venture capital funds, and family offices.
* Investor Outreach: Collaborate with advisors to build and refine investor lists tailored to each client. Coordinate with clients to finalize buyer shortlists and gather necessary data.
* Transaction Support: Assist in outreach campaigns with tailored messaging and CRM workflows. Conduct strategic analyses to assess buyer suitability. Prepare marketing materials like buyer profiles and teasers.
* Reporting: Provide weekly reports on buyer engagement for internal and client use. Identify and source new investors proactively.
* Deal Origination: Support the buy-side team with lead generation and opportunity sourcing.
* Research & Strategic Projects: Conduct desk research for deal origination and sector-specific buyer mapping. Contribute to strategic initiatives and projects across the firm.
Skills & Qualifications
* A degree in Business, Finance, or related field (recent graduates welcome).
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Meticulous attention to detail.
* Strong skills in Microsoft Office (especially Excel and PowerPoint), CRM systems (preferably HubSpot), and online research tools.
* Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
* A self-starter with a resourceful, can-do attitude.
* Proven ability to collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders.
* Professional demeanor with strong client-facing communication skills.
* Eager to learn and grow within a dynamic, expanding company.
* Understanding of small business operations.
