Job Description:
Sr. Electrical Engineer
MacDonald Search Group is seeking a first-class Electrical Engineer to join their team in Kingston, Ontario. The role involves leading electrical engineering projects, mentoring junior staff, ensuring code compliance, and maintaining high standards of technical excellence and client satisfaction.
Responsibilities include:
* Leading and managing electrical design projects from concept to completion, acting as Project Manager on single-discipline assignments.
* Creating and reviewing system layouts, calculations, and electrical plans to ensure compliance with codes, standards, and client needs.
* Collaborating with internal teams, multidisciplinary partners, and external stakeholders such as architects and contractors.
* Mentoring junior engineers and contributing to team development.
* Participating in site visits, inspections, and client meetings to monitor construction progress and ensure design integrity.
* Preparing proposals, technical reports, project abstracts, and functional documentation.
* Supporting project schedules, budgets, and scope management in coordination with project managers.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and Ontario designation.
* Several years of electrical engineering experience, including leadership or mentorship roles.
* Strong knowledge of building services, construction processes, and land development.
* Expertise in applicable codes, standards, and electrical system design.
* Experience with contract administration is an asset.
* Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.
* Critical thinking, team leadership, multitasking, and client management abilities.
* Comfort with site visits and liaising with clients and contractors.
* Commitment to continuous learning and professional growth.
