We are now seeking a forward‑thinking Global Director, Content & Contributor Strategy — a commercially astute, strategically ambitious leader who will shape and execute our global content vision, transform our contributor ecosystem and build a content engine that is data‑informed, enterprise‑ready and commercially powerful.

This is a pivotal leadership role with significant strategic influence and long‑term growth potential.


Role

This role goes beyond traditional content leadership.

You will define and own Alamy’s global content strategy across creative, editorial, video and emerging formats, ensuring our library is enterprise‑ready, commercially differentiated and future‑proofed for AI‑driven discovery and distribution.

You will act as a senior member of the leadership team, partnering deeply with Sales, Product, Technology, Data and Operations to ensure content strategy directly supports revenue growth, customer acquisition and retention. Critically, you will build a proactive, commercially attuned contributor strategy that strengthens relationships with key partners while modernising how we acquire, curate and optimise content globally.


Key Responsibilities

* Define and deliver a multi‑year global content roadmap aligned to e‑commerce, SME and enterprise growth targets.
* Develop a differentiated content value proposition in a consolidating, competitive market.
* Strengthen creative, editorial and video portfolios through insight‑driven investment.
* Champion best‑in‑class content standards: rights governance, provenance, metadata quality, AI‑safety and C2PA.
* Represent Alamy externally at industry events, panels and strategic partner engagements.
* Partner with Sales leadership to support enterprise pitches, RFPs, renewals and key account strategies.
* Translate client insight and market demand into targeted content investment decisions.
* Develop enterprise‑ready curated collections and content packages.
* Act as the internal customer advocate, ensuring content enhances conversion, engagement and renewal.
* Collaborate with Product and Data on search optimisation, ML‑driven ranking and metadata strategy.
* Ensure the library is structured for discoverability, defensibility and commercial impact.
* Lead initiatives to deliver AI/data‑ready content that supports future Alamy platform capabilities.
* Redesign contributor acquisition and retention strategies aligned with commercial priorities.
* Elevate contributor quality standards and reduce legal and operational risk.
* Build contributor engagement programmes that foster loyalty, transparency and operational excellence.
* Partner with Technology to improve contributor workflows, tooling and communication.
* Design and lead a high‑performing global content function.
* Drive operational excellence across ingestion, curation, rights, metadata and QA.
* Build a culture of creativity, accountability, commercial focus and data‑led decision‑making.
* Influence strategic and investment decisions at executive level.

About You

You are a commercially sophisticated content leader with the ambition and credibility to operate at executive level.

You combine deep expertise in global image and video markets with a sharp understanding of enterprise sales dynamics. You are as comfortable in front of a major client as you are shaping metadata standards with product and engineering teams.


You Will Bring Your Experience

* Significant leadership experience shaping global content strategy (creative, editorial and video).
* Proven partnership with Sales and the ability to support enterprise growth and complex negotiations.
* Strong knowledge of rights, licensing models, contributor agreements, indemnification and risk.
* Experience transforming content libraries using data, market insight and customer behaviour.
* Advanced understanding of metadata, taxonomy, ML‑driven discovery and digital content pipelines.
* A commercial mindset and belief that “we all own the number.”
* Executive presence, resilience and strategic clarity.
* High adaptability, strong problem‑solving capability and comfort navigating ambiguity.
