New Craigs Hospital
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Specialist Clinical Pharmacist to join our well-established Mental Health and Learning Disabilities Pharmacy Team, based at New Craigs Hospital, Inverness.
We are looking for a proactive and enthusiastic individual with relevant pharmacy practice experience, excellent communication, interpersonal and IT skills.
The post holder will provide a high-quality, specialist clinical pharmacy service to mental health inpatient and outpatient services. Working as part of the pharmacy team and as an integrated member of the multidisciplinary team, you will deliver expert pharmaceutical advice, support medicines optimisation, and contribute to clinical governance, service development, education, training and quality improvement.
Requirements of the post holder
Essential
1. Masters degree in Pharmacy (or equivalent)
2. Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
3. Holds a full and current UK driving licence
4. A minimum of five years post-registration experience and at least two years experience in a relevant clinical specialty or hospital pharmacy setting
5. Evidence of regular Continuing Professional Development (CPD) in accordance with GPhC requirements and be willing to undertake
Desirable
6. Postgraduate Diploma or MSc in a relevant clinical subject
7. Practice Certificate in Independent Prescribing

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION FOR CANDIDATES
8. Effective from 1st April 2026, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reduced from 37 to 36 hours. Part-time hours will be adjusted on a pro-rata basis. There will be an increase in the hourly rate to ensure that pay remains unaffected.
