Scientific Officer Salary: £23,342 – £36,263 per annum (dependent on experience).Contract Type: PermanentLocation: South Central Manchester
About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced scientific officer to join a biological unit which delivers groundbreaking research. In this role, you will be responsible for the daily care and welfare monitoring of mice housed in the experimental laboratory and will work closely with research groups. The unit delivers in vivo Oncology support, ensuringpliance with the Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986, and provides training and welfare guidance to Personal Licence holders.
You will have:
•An HNC in Animal Technology, relevant experience, or 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) with substantial experience in laboratory animal technology.
•A current or previous Personal Licence under the Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986.
•Experience in Oncology research (advantageous but not essential).
•The ability to perform routine tasks with minimal supervision.
•Excellent organisational, time-management, andmunication skills.
•A strong understanding of the Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986.
•High levels of accuracy, motivation, and attention to detail.
•Good IT skills and familiarity with standard office software.
You will be required to work flexibly as part of a team, including participation in the weekend and Bank Holiday out-of-hours rota.
