Purpose
Take ownership of financial management reporting, cost analysis and business performance insight across the Glasdon Group of Companies. The role will provide accurate, timely and commercially focused financial information, supporting strategic decision‑making, cost control and continuous improvement.
Key Tasks
* Prepare and take ownership of monthly management accounts, including commentary and variance analysis
* Deliver detailed cost and margin analysis, identifying trends, risks and opportunities
* Lead balance sheet reconciliations and ensure integrity of financial controls
* Maintain and oversee fixed asset registers (including an investment property portfolio)
* Lead the preparation and reconciliation of service charges for tenants of the investment property portfolio
* Produce and review group reporting and consolidated financial information
* Involvement with Group treasury management, foreign currency and cash flow planning
* Involvement with Group corporation tax compliance and quarterly installment payments
* Lead the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts
* Support and coordinate statutory accounts preparation and external audit processes (both UK and overseas)
* Provide insightful and timely financial reporting and analysis to Senior Management and Directors
* Prepare and submit VAT returns, Intrastat returns and ensure compliance with relevant UK and International regulations
* Take ownership of intercompany reconciliations and transfer pricing reviews
* Partner with operational teams to understand cost drivers, improve business performance and import/export processes and compliance
* Review and challenge overheads, costs and profitability analysis
* Contribute to continuous improvement of financial processes and systems

Person Specification
* Previous experience producing and owning management accounts
* Strong experience in cost analysis, variance analysis and profitability reporting
* Ability to influence decision‑making
* Advanced Excel skills and strong systems capability
* Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
* Proven finance or accounting experience, ideally within an industrial or manufacturing environment
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Organised, proactive and self‑motivated
* Effective team player with a professional attitude
* Experience with group reporting and consolidations (including overseas subsidiaries)
* Experience supporting audits and statutory accounts
* Knowledge of standard costing systems
* Knowledge of UK and European employment legislation
* Experience with ERP/accounting systems
* Experience in process improvement or finance transformation initiatives
* Use of AI to improve reporting and processes
Qualifications
* Fully qualified accountant (ACCA or ACA)
* Minimum 2+ years post‑qualification experience in a relevant role
Working Hours
Full‑time, permanent. Monday to Friday, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm (typical office hours). Monthly pay in arrears (by the 28th of each month).
