Job Title: Town Warden
Location: Banbridge
Pay Rate: £13.05 per hour
Contract Type: Temporary - 3 months with potential extension
Hours: 37 hours per week
* Tuesday to Friday: 8.30am - 4.30pm
* Saturday: 8.30am - 4.00pm
The Town Warden will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming town centre environment. This role involves litter control, environmental maintenance, and acting as a point of contact for the local community, including responding to public enquiries and complaints.
Job Duties Include
1. Carry out routine litter picking and respond to priority areas as required
2. Clean and maintain public conveniences
3. Remove graffiti and fly-posting
4. Undertake weeding and general grounds maintenance
5. Identify and report damage, defects, vandalism or disrepair to the supervisor
6. Report littering and dog fouling offences in line with regulations
7. Act as a visible presence in the town centre and engage with the local community
8. Provide advice and assistance to members of the public
9. Follow all health and safety policies, ensuring the safety of yourself, colleagues and the public
10. Complete any other duties appropriate to the role
Essential Criteria
* Experience in face-to-face customer service or public-facing roles
* Previous experience in litter picking, labouring or environmental work
* Strong communication skills
* Ability to work independently and use own initiative
* Ability to follow clear instructions and established procedures
* Awareness of health and safety regulations
