Bayford House Care Home, Rookwood Newbury, RG20 8LB. CQC rating: Good. Salary £12.25 - £13.25 per hour depending on experience. Permanent contract. 44 hours Day and 44 hours Night shifts available. Location: Bayford House Care Home, Rookwood, Stockcross, Newbury.
Care Assistant
Bayford House Care Home offers personalised care packages including residential, respite, nursing, palliative and Parkinson’s care. Independent living suites are available for those needing extra support or recovering from surgery. The home is set in large landscaped gardens with high ceilings and period features; most bedrooms have en-suite facilities.
Residents can stay for two weeks, a month or longer; respite rooms can be booked up to three months in advance. The independent living suites include lounge areas, an on-site salon, a large lounge and cinema room, and a dining room with hostess service. The in-house chef prepares homemade meals with dietary options.
Activities include arts and crafts, reminiscence sessions, gentle gardening, sing-alongs, regular church services and a mobile library visit. There is also an on-site salon, cinema room and dining facilities as described above.

Key Responsibilities
* Support residents with a wide range of requirements from companionship to personal care.
* Observe and manage residents' behaviour with care and document and report any changes in accordance with required legislation.
* Support residents' nutrition and hydration needs, encouraging and assisting them to eat and drink according to their care plan.
* Provide essential physical and mental stimulation through social and recreational activities, both in groups and individually.
* Maintain accurate care plans in line with regulatory and legal requirements.

* Motivation, positivity, and great interpersonal skills.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
* Desirable: Previous experience in a care home environment or a Health and Social Care qualification.
