About the role:
As Head Animal Management Technician you will be responsible for directing the animal technician team in delivering practical husbandry with a collection that is fit for teaching and commercial purposes. You will ensure the collection plan is followed, and have responsibility for the day-to-day care of the collection.
Banbury and Bicester College is a centre of excellence in Animal Management and our students benefit from working directly with a variety of animals include aquatics, avians including rare breed poultry, invertebrates, reptiles, a range of mammals including rabbits, marmosets and golden Guernsey goats.
This is a permanent, full-time role based at our Banbury College.
What do you need to be successful as Head Animal Management Technician at Activate Learning?
You will have a minimum level 3 qualification in animal management and have experience as a senior keeper, working with responsibility for an animal management collection. This would include experience of handling a variety of animal species; i.e. companion animals, birds, fish or exotics species (snakes, lizards, amphibians, invertebrates), along with evidence of managing health and safety in the workplace.
You must have strong leadership skills and the ability to build strong working relationships across teams and external stakeholders.
