A leading UK technology innovator is seeking a Senior Electronics / Firmware Engineer to join their growing R&D team in Warwick. This is a hands-on, high-impact role where you will contribute directly to the design and development of cutting-edge electronic and embedded systems powering an innovative range of measurement products.
You will work within a multidisciplinary engineering environment spanning electronics hardware, embedded software, cloud/backend systems, and mobile applicationsplaying a key role in shaping both current and next-generation products.
Key Responsibilities
* Design robust electronic products from concept through to production, developing innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges
* Take a hands-on role in hardware and firmware development activities
* Oversee PCB design and layout, ensuring high-quality, reliable, and manufacturable solutions
* Develop and define test plans for hardware verification and production testing
* Support environmental, reliability, and EMC testing during product qualification
* Perform circuit analysis including power consumption, component tolerance, and system reliability
* Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to capture, refine, and implement design requirements
* Contribute to design-for-manufacture, design-for-test, and product reliability strategies (DFx)
Essential Skills & Experience
* Proven experience delivering digital electronics designs from concept to production
* Strong understanding of microprocessor-based, battery-powered embedded systems
* Hands-on experience with embedded C on microcontrollers
* Familiarity with PCB design and layout processes
* Knowledge of standard communication protocols (SPI, I2C, UART, USB)
* Experience with test, verification, and validation techniques across the product lifecycle
* Strong understanding of hardware engineering principles with exposure to embedded software development
* Degree in Electronic Engineering (or equivalent industry experience)
* Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across engineering disciplines
Desirable Experience
* Full product lifecycle development and ownership
* Experience with Bluetooth or Wi-Fi enabled battery-powered devices
* Exposure to environmental and EMC testing during certification
* Experience with production test development and manufacturing environments
* Knowledge of analogue electronics xsngvjr design
* Familiarity with mechanical/industrial design or manufacturing engineering
* Experience supporting certification processes (CE, FCC, ISED)
