An exciting opportunity has arisen for motivated people with the ability to communicate effectively to join the Integrated Services Team as Trainee Social Workers to work with older people, people experiencing cognitive decline and people with physical disabilities.

These trainee roles will provide the successful applicants with opportunity

* To work with experienced Social Work teams to assess and support people to live as independently as possible whilst receiving work-based training and advice.
* Support to apply for and undertake the Open University Degree in Social Work
* On successfully completing the course, to then work within the team as a qualified Social Worker

As part of the Council's Policy and Procedure it is now a requirement that employees must register with the DBS Update Service for which there is an annual subscription fee of £13 borne by the individual but then reimbursed by the Local Authority. The Authority will pay for the initial DBS check.

DBS level:

An Enhanced with Barred List Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check will be requested for this job. It is an offence to apply for the role if the applicant is barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children or adults at risk

Welsh language level - verbal

Level 2 - You will need a basic level of conversational Welsh. Reasonable support can be provided on appointment to reach this level.
