In the UK, Safran Seats specialises solely in the First Class and Business Class seating markets for wide-body aircraft, with industrial and engineering teams in Cwmbran and Newport, Wales, and Brackley, England. As a Project Engineer, you will provide technical support, work package collaboration, and project management across a range of engineering projects. You will be a key individual contributor and part of the Safran Seats GB Engineering Project Management office. You will be deployed to projects in Early Engagement, Delivery, Test and Prototyping, and/or Sustaining Production.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
* Understand and facilitate Time, Cost, and Quality in the Product Development and/or R&T Lifecycle.
* Actively engage and develop in Project Governance and Methods and Tools to complete the project to the contractual and customer requirements.
* Manage stakeholders from multiple engineering and non-engineering disciplines to enable successful project delivery.
* Manage change and requirements of product development.
* Use project management methods and tools to provide regular updates on progress and support needed to engineering management.
* Analyze and prioritize data and actions according to business needs.
* Support contract, funding, and commercial negotiations.
* Assist product engineering with technology handover and transition to manufacturing.
* Perform peer reviews of data, analysis, and reports.
* Ensure product development complies with aircraft certification requirements, utilizing team expertise.
Candidate Profile:
* Industrial experience in product development, production engineering, or R&D within engineering.
* Experience in project management, methods, and tools.
* Planning and influencing project results experience.
* Self-reliant, proactive, motivated, and achievement-oriented.
* Strong communication skills in English, both oral and written.
* Ability to establish good working relationships across departments and with customers.
* Qualified to NVQ Level 4 or HNC in an engineering field.
* Knowledge of software, electrical, electronic systems, or composite, plastic, and additive manufactured components.
* Academic and hands-on experience in product/process/materials development.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a pragmatic approach.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
* Full UK driving license and valid passport required.
