Hays Education has recently seen an increased need for local Special Educational Needs Teachers in schools across Northamptonshire for both day-to-day and long-term supply roles, with the potential for permanent contracts.
At Hays, we work with numerous schools throughout Northamptonshire, including Northampton, Corby, Kettering, Wellingborough, Rushden, Daventry, Towcester, Brackley, and surrounding areas. This means as a teacher working through Hays, you will have access to local work in your preferred areas, focusing on schools you wish to work in.
We are currently recruiting on behalf of a SEMH (Social, Emotional, Mental Health) secondary school in Towcester for students aged 11-18 with behavioural, emotional, and social difficulties who have not been able to settle into mainstream education. The school is expanding, currently with over 63 students, and features a vocational hub alongside the national curriculum, enabling students to develop skills in areas such as Motor Vehicle Studies, Construction, Hair and Beauty, and Engineering.
Your new role
We are seeking a full-time Special Educational Needs Teacher to join the team as soon as possible on a temporary to permanent basis. We want dedicated individuals who thrive in challenging environments and are passionate about supporting students’ social, life, and independence skills.
The successful candidate will have a positive impact on children with diverse care needs, life experiences, and personalities, making each day engaging and rewarding. Building trusting relationships and motivating students through individual attention, reassurance, and support with daily tasks will be key.
What you'll need to succeed
The ideal candidate will be a confident teacher with Qualified Teacher Status. Hays welcomes both experienced teachers and ECTs who are comfortable working with children and young people with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour.
We also accept applications from graduates with relevant degrees and experience working with children.
Please note: We are unable to support overseas applications for these roles.
What you'll get in return
This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a supportive and rewarding environment with excellent students.
In return, you will receive:
* Competitive rates of pay
* Holiday pay and pension contributions weekly
* Access to the Hays Hub mobile app for managing bookings
* Continued professional development and support
* A dedicated team of professionals on call to assist you
* Refer-a-Friend scheme worth £250 in high street vouchers
