Welder / Fabricator
Location: Sandy, Bedfordshire
Type: Full Time | Permanent
Salary: £20p/h DOE
Hours: 39 hours per week (Monday to Friday)
The Opportunity
Guided Talent is recruiting on behalf of a long-established and highly respected engineering manufacturing business for a skilled Welder / Fabricator.
This is a hands-on, varied role manufacturing specialist food processing equipment for UK and international customers. The position would suit an experienced welder/fabricator with strong stainless steel experience who enjoys working on bespoke engineered products.
Key Responsibilities
* Welding and fabrication of stainless steel components (1.0mm – 12mm thickness)
* TIG and Synergic MIG welding including pipework and purge welding
* Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
* Working to tolerances and understanding bend allowances
* Operating fabrication and sheet metal machinery
* Working within production or occasionally on customer sites
* Maintaining high standards of quality and workmanship
* Following Health & Safety, hygiene, and inspection procedures
* Supporting team objectives within production
General Objectives
* Deliver high standards of quality engineering work
* Maintain strong standards of safety, discipline, attendance, and timekeeping
* Work effectively as part of a team
Skills & Experience Required
* Proven experience in welding and fabrication (stainless steel essential)
* Experience with TIG and MIG welding processes
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
* Strong fabrication and sheet metal experience
* Good understanding of tolerances and fabrication techniques
* Team player with a proactive attitude
Qualifications (Desirable)
* City & Guilds in Welding and Fabrication
* Apprenticeship within a recognised engineering environment
Working Hours
Early finish on fridays. Overtime is generally available and paid at 1.5x hourly rate (weekdays and Saturday mornings). A reasonable level of overtime is expected when requested.
