Job Description
The NCIs are looking to recruit a Finance Systems Administrator on a one year fixed term contract basis to support business-as-usual systems during a period of significant change. This is a great opportunity for anyone looking to step into a Finance Systems administration role, and 'learn on the job'.
The Finance Systems Administrator will work closely with the Finance Systems Analysts, supporting them as necessary and learning by assisting with support calls, predominantly 1st line, logged via the helpdesk software as well as general systems administration. This will be across all Finance systems including SAP, Credit Cards, BACS and other peripheral applications.
Systems Administration Will Comprise Of
Basic user support (password resets, user access administration, systems housekeeping etc)
The production of regular data extracts and reports
The update of systems documentation including training materials, user guides and quick reference sheets.
There will also be the opportunity to support work on small systems projects as they occur including testing, configuration and development as well as learning how to troubleshoot more complex 2nd line support issues.
This is a 12 month fixed-term contract.
Responsibilities
Finance Administration
User Account Management
Chart of Accounts/Codes Maintenance
Systems Maintenance/Housekeeping as required
Credit Card administration
Operational Support
Review/Action/Refer requests logged on helpdesk ticketing system
Provide 1st line support for Finance Systems including:
Update user manuals / guides / quick reference cards / videos
Schedule training and drop-in support sessions
Support the Finance analysts as required including troubleshooting, systems testing and 2nd line support issues
Support delivery of user training across platforms and methods
Reporting, Data management and Project support
Responsible for regular and ad-hoc reporting
Responsible for standard data extracts and distribution
Ad-hoc projects support and involvement
Qualifications
Essential Skills and Aptitude:
Good level of literacy & numeracy
Confident technology user, particularly Microsoft applications
Good time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Ability to work well and effectively under pressure
Well organised and able to prioritise work or refer as appropriate
Ability to work as an effective and flexible team member, with the ability to work largely unsupervised
Good communication skills both written and verbal, and confidence interacting with a wide range of people at all levels
Personable, friendly, self-motivated and enthusiastic
Looking to learn and develop Systems Administration skills and knowledge
Ability to work outside of core hours on occasion (patching, testing, deadline driven)
Knowledge/Experience – Minimum Of Two Years In All Aspects
Financial administration or bookkeeping experience
Experience of working in a team to meet shared goals and deadlines
Experience of a support provision role and resolving colleagues queries and issues
Desirable
Finance Application administration experience
SAP experience
Basic understanding of UK accounting principles
Experience of working in the finance function of a large and complex organisation
Experience of working in a not for profit or charity organisation
