IT Support Manager - Cheshire - £40K My Client, an MSP based in Cheshire are looking for an IT Support Manager to join their technical team. About the role Oversee a dynamic technical support/Helpdesk department within an MSP. Serve as the primary escalation point beyond the Technical Team for both customers and team members, offering technical expertise, training, and support. This role combines technical proficiency with managerial responsibilities, including conducting employee appraisals, managing recruitment, overseeing SLAs, and coordinating 24/7 support schedules. Benefits Expensed Mileage Workplace Pension Free Parking 28 Days Annual Leave Main duties Offer both proactive and reactive technical support to our customer base Maintain continuous coverage of the technical desk, including 24/7 support, by coordinating with technical teams. Act as the primary point of technical escalation for the support team. Take ownership of all technical issues within Amita, ensuring they are resolved within service level agreements. Organize and facilitate training sessions for both oneself and the team, with support from other management. Document and audit all new clients effectively. Procure necessary software, tools, and equipment for the technical teams within allocated budgets. Conduct annual appraisals for all technical team members. Manage all aspects of technical support staff, including recruitment, disciplinary actions, and targets, with support from HR and the Managing Director. Support Account Managers in client reviews. Requirements Preferably certified with MCP or an equivalent current Microsoft qualification, though not mandatory. Possession of a valid and clean UK driving license. Demonstrated expertise in small to medium-sized business end-user environments. Proficiency in communication across all levels, including interaction with company owners. Strong presentation and communication abilities, coupled with the skill to produce accurate and succinct reports. Capability to efficiently oversee the expansion of a technical team.
