Are you interested in flood risk management and seeking your next exciting opportunity? We are looking for senior flood modellers to join our thriving business and work on significant projects across the UK. If this sounds like you, we want to hear from you and discuss how we can help develop your career!

We have recently become a Delivery Partner for the Environment Agency’s latest framework, focusing on understanding climate change impacts and flood risks in England. Under the 2024 Mapping and Modelling Framework, AtkinsRéalis will provide survey, mapping, modelling, incident management, hydrological, and other professional services to support climate event planning and response, helping communities across England.

Due to this and other projects, we have vacancies UK-wide for enthusiastic and ambitious individuals in primarily technical roles.

Role:

Contribute to and lead hydraulic and hydrological modelling projects.

Expertise:

Proficiency in 1D and 2D modelling for rivers, surface water, and coastal areas.

Location:

Vacancies across the UK.

AtkinsRéalis offers opportunities for talented consultants to work on diverse projects at various scales, including flood risk management, natural flood management, flood forecasting, and water resource issues. We also work internationally on projects in the Middle East, North America, and beyond, collaborating with global teams.

Requirements:

* Experience in delivering flood risk projects with a focus on hydraulic modelling, capable of leading technical work and mentoring junior staff.
* Proficiency in 1D-2D modelling tools like Infoworks ICM, Flood Modeller, TUFLOW/ESTRY, or HEC-RAS, and GIS tools such as ArcGIS, MapInfo, or QGIS. Hydrological assessment experience, including FEH and UK hydrology, is desirable.
* Some leadership experience in developing and managing technical teams.
* Ability to make robust decisions based on data and information.

Chartered status is valued, and support for obtaining professional memberships is available. Civil engineering design experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities:

* Perform detailed technical work, including hydraulic modelling, data analysis, GIS, and reporting, ensuring quality standards.
* Manage and supervise junior team members, support project managers, and progress multiple projects.
* Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and provide excellent client service.
* Support business development activities, including tendering and stakeholder engagement.
* Contribute to the development of the Flood Risk Team through active involvement in technical networks.

The individual should:

* Be motivated, self-driven, and committed to technical excellence.
* Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration.
* Be adaptable and flexible to tackle new challenges.
* Be well-organized and capable of managing multiple projects, with attention to detail.

Training:

AtkinsRéalis offers comprehensive training and development, supporting professional growth, including assistance with Chartered status and memberships like ICE or CIWEM. Opportunities for career progression into management roles are available, and participation in global technical networks is encouraged.

We provide a flexible 'Total Reward' package tailored to your lifestyle and career stage, including flexible holidays, health benefits, and career planning.
