Job Description The Post Holder will primarily advise the Commanding Officer (CO) and unit personnel on Health, Safety and Environmental Policy matters in compliance with national legislation and MOD policy. Furthermore, the Post Holder will support the Officer in Command of the Base Department, the Health, Safety, Environment Protection Officer (HSEPO) with the formulation, development, and implementation of the CO's policy and management plan for HSEP. The HSEP(A) is to act as Secretary to the HSEP Management Committee. Responsibilities Main details of the role include but are not limited to: Management of the Unit Safety and Environmental Management System (SEMS): Responsible for ensuring compliance with legislative and MOD policies. This includes drafting the Unit Health & Safety (HS) and Environmental Protection (EP) Management Plans, maintaining the Risk Register, and conducting audits on behalf of the Safety, Health, and Environmental Focal Officer (SHEFO). Focal Point for HS & EP Matters: Provide advice, leadership, guidance, and mentoring on Health, Safety, and Environmental Protection (HS & EP) matters at the Unit. Provide advice on completing reports, ensure incidents are recorded in the Unit Incident Logs, and offer guidance on the process for personal injury claims against the MOD.
