Site Engineer – Contributing to a major civil infrastructure programme. This position involves precision setting out, capturing as-built survey data, overseeing quality assurance processes, and managing the delivery of core civil engineering activities such as drainage, earthworks, duct installation, pavement and kerb construction, and street lighting, all within a Tier 1, high-profile delivery environment.

Key Duties
Carry out setting out and site surveying using Trimble or Leica total stations, EDMs, and laser equipment.
Maintain quality control records including ITPs, inspection sheets, checklists, and non-conformance reports.
Deliver civil works packages including site clearance, drainage systems, service ducting, pavements, kerbs, footways, and lighting installations.
Support on-site health, safety, and quality compliance requirements.
Read and interpret engineering drawings (including reinforcement, bending schedules, and RC detailing).
Communicate effectively with site teams and escalate technical queries where necessary.
Monitor programme progress, highlight potential delays, and contribute to short-term work planning.
Assist with design compliance checks and readiness reviews.
Record as-built information and produce accurate survey documentation.
Candidate Profile
Experience
Civil engineering background, ideally with experience as a Site or Section Engineer.
Knowledge of reinforced concrete works, formwork, and heavy civil projects.
Competent in the use of Trimble/Leica equipment for setting out.
Familiar with AutoCAD, MS Office, and cloud-based project platforms.
Strong communication skills and capable of leading small site teams.
Able to work independently and raise HSEQ concerns proactively.
Qualifications
Degree or HNC in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
Valid CSCS card (mandatory).
Desirable
IOSH Managing Safely, SSSTS, or SMSTS.
First Aid or Fire Marshall certification.
IPAF (MEWP) licence.
Safety Critical Medical.
Temporary Works Supervisor (TWS).
