Cleaning Operative

Salary: £25,322 - £25,623 (pro-rata for part-time)
Hours: 15 per week, 52 weeks
Working pattern: Monday to Friday, 4pm - 7pm
As a cleaner with the City of Edinburgh Council, you'll be a key member of our Facilities Management team. You'll deliver essential cleaning services across our estate to ensure our properties are safe and clean for work or learning. Major Tasks/Job Activities
* Emptying litter and recycling bins
* Cleaning all surfaces, internal glass, floors, furniture, fixtures, and fittings within a group of buildings
* Cleaning all sanitary areas, toilets, and showers, and replenishing washroom consumables
* Performing emergency and reactive cleaning, e.g., graffiti removal, spillages
* Maintaining the care and cleanliness of all equipment used
* Supporting additional cleaning tasks across other buildings as required
* Meeting cleaning specification requirements and cooperating with performance measurement to meet standards
*Facilities Management has overall responsibility for keyholding to enable opening and closing of buildings. As part of this role, you will be required to be a key holder, operating security alarm systems, securing premises, and ensuring safety when closing.
This role is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate must join the PVG Scheme or undergo an update check. If you have spent 3 or more months outside the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. Employment is contingent upon satisfactory completion of these checks.

Our salary range typically reflects starting salaries, with annual increases up to the top of the range.
