Position Summary
:
The Suspension and OEM Lab Technician is responsible for servicing FOX bicycle suspension products and supporting OEM customer sample requests This role combines technical hands-on repair work with customer-oriented service delivery. The incumbent ensures product servicing and rework is completed within 48 hours of receipt, maintains high-quality standards, and communicates effectively with internal teams and customers.
Position Responsibilities:
Service Center Duties
1. Perform complete tear down, inspection, and rebuild of FOX bicycle products.
2. Clean and inspect all internal and external assemblies for wear or damage.
3. Notify the Service Writer if repair costs exceed the original estimate.
4. Ensure all repairs meet FOX’s quality and performance standards.
5. Accurately document work and part usage in our Oracle ERP system.
6. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment by adhering to all department safety regulations.
7. Report product issues to the Service Manager.
8. Evaluate warranty service requests critically and escalate inconsistencies.
9. Responds to urgent requests with professionalism and a solutions-oriented, positive attitude.
OEM Lab Duties
10. Provide technical service support on OEM sample requests.
11. Build and deliver custom samples that meet each OEM customer bicycle platform requirements.
12. Follow department processes and procedures to ensure samples meet exact technical requirements.
13. Target 48 hour turnaround on each sample request.
14. Communicate clearly with Fox Sales and OEM customers as needed.
15. Partner with the OEM Technical Sales Coordinator to meet company and customer expectations.
16. Travel to OEM customer test sites for technical service support.
Specific Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required:
17. Ability to use tools properly without damaging products.
18. Strong mechanical aptitude and diagnostic skills.
19. Effective communication skills to explain in detail mechanical problems with product.
20. Moderate computer proficiency, including ability to navigate databases, send emails, and research parts and technical documentation.
Position Qualifications:
Education:
21. High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
22. Post-secondary education in a technical field is an asset.
Experience:
23. 3+ years of hands-on mechanical experience; experience with bicycle products is preferred.
24. Experience working in a lab, service centre, or manufacturing environment is an asset
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
25. Requires walking, standing, bending and lifting for long periods of time.
26. Sufficient vision to inspect products and enter data on a computer.
