As our new Senior Internal Auditor, you will be responsible for undertaking and leading complex internal audit work, with a view to providing independent and objective assurance to our Cabot Group and Senior Management on the design and effectiveness of the groups systems of governance, risk management and internal control. Key responsibilities include: Designing, delivering, and reporting internal audit assurance and advisory work Providing insight into the control framework of the business in an objective, factual and relevant way Completing credible technical analysis, and critical thinking to business problems – drawing on commercial experiences in a way that provides value Reviewing, tracking, reporting, and chasing management actions – being proactive in taking any relevant action Assisting in the production of management information for the Executive Directors and the Audit Committee - conduct other assignments or special projects, as requested by the Head of Internal Audit Represent the internal audit function in a range of business meetings, forums and contexts Contributing to the strategic direction and activities of the global internal audit department including in relation to audit planning, scheduling, workflow management and strategies over the best audit approach and methodology to undertake to achieve the best outcomes Demonstrate a good understanding of business operations, risk management, governance, auditing techniques, regulatory contexts, and industry developments We are looking for someone with: Previous experience of working as a senior internal audit or within an internal auditor role, or similar ‘assurance’ function (e.g., risk management, compliance, or an external audit firm / consultancy); or first line controls experience is key Strong report writing skills Preferably an individual who has, or is working towards, a professional qualification in internal auditing (CIIA/ CMIIA) or accountancy (e.g., ACCA, ICAEW, CIMA etc.) / equivalent Previous experience of working in the financial services sector and FCA regulation is preferable Good knowledge of MS Office applications including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint Experience of relevant knowledge of current risk management, governance, and financial services regulatory frameworks Experience with Auditboard (audit management software) will be helpful What happens next?
