SEMH Teacher (Qualified – QTS Essential) – Full Time
Location: B95
Pay: £140 – £200 per day (Dependent on experience)
Contract: Full-time, Monday–Friday (Long-term opportunity)
Smile Education is proud to be supporting a specialist SEMH alternate provision school in B95, catering for up to 50 pupils with a range of social, emotional and mental health needs alongside additional learning needs.
This is a rewarding opportunity for a qualified SEMH Teacher who is passionate about supporting vulnerable learners within a structured, nurturing and trauma-informed environment. You will play a key role in helping pupils re-engage with education and achieve both academically and emotionally.
The Role
Deliver engaging, structured and inclusive lessons tailored to pupils with SEMH and SEN needs.
Plan and implement personalised learning programmes in line with EHCPs and individual support plans.
Create a calm, safe and consistent learning environment that promotes positive behaviour and emotional regulation.
Use de-escalation strategies and restorative approaches to manage behaviour effectively.
Track, assess and report on pupil progress both academically and socially.
Work closely with teaching assistants, pastoral staff, SENCOs and external agencies.
Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and their families/carers.
Contribute to reviews, meetings and multi-agency planning.
Promote safeguarding, wellbeing and inclusion at all times.About the School

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – ESSENTIAL
Experience working within SEMH and/or SEN settings (minimum 6 months preferred).
Previous experience in alternate provision strongly desirable.
Team Teach training – strongly advantageous (or willingness to undertake).
Calm, resilient and nurturing approach to behaviour management.
Committed to full-time work and consistency for pupils.
Ability to provide 2 references covering the last 2 years (one child-related).
