HR PAYROLL ADVISOR (STAND ALONE ROLE)
STOCKPORT - HYBRID ROLE 3/2
FMCG IMPORT / SUPPLY CHAIN
UP TO £32k
Our client is a well-established homeware brand selling to UK high street retailers and online, experiencing rapid global growth. They are seeking an experienced HR & PAYROLL ADVISOR to join their team. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, professional, and flexible, with at least 3+ years of experience in a busy HR department or payroll environment, preferably within import/distribution or a fast-growing ecommerce business.
The role involves providing general HR support across various areas, including employee contracts, onboarding, attendance monitoring, training, appraisals, disciplinary matters, payroll adjustments, recruitment, and liaising with agencies. It suits someone who enjoys variety and can operate effectively in a fast-paced, growing business.
Key qualities include excellent communication skills, strong organization, ability to prioritize, work under pressure, and work independently with initiative.
Main Duties:
* Monthly payroll processing for around 50 employees
* Supporting internal managers and departments
* Reporting to HR manager overseas
* Maintaining employee records
* Drafting employment contracts and HR notices
* Resolving payroll queries with operational staff
* Ensuring HR policies comply with legal standards
* Updating systems with employee data
* Managing day-to-day payroll operations
* Producing reports
* Handling recruitment processes
* Coordinating staff holidays and time recording
* Generating employment offers and induction documentation
* Supporting HR policy reviews and training needs analysis
* Managing references, HR correspondence, and exit processes
* Supporting health and safety initiatives and compliance queries
Must Have:
* At least 3 years' HR and payroll experience
* Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
* CIPD Level 3 qualification or higher
* Discretion and confidentiality
* Strong organizational skills and adaptability
* Commercial awareness
* Ability to work calmly under pressure
* Attention to detail
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office
* Diplomatic and persuasive personality
* Mature attitude
Location: Stockport head office, hybrid role 3/2, up to £32k, 5 weeks holiday, bonus scheme.
