Salary: £30,702 to 34,484 per annum
Contract Type: Permanent Full time 37 hours per week

The Opportunity
Barnsley College is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Catering and Hospitality Teacher to join our dynamic and supportive team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the delivery of high quality teaching across a range of catering and hospitality courses within our well resourced department.
In this role, you will plan and deliver engaging lessons that meet curriculum requirements and support learners in developing strong practical and theoretical skills. You will prepare and select suitable teaching materials, assess learner progress and adapt your teaching to meet individual needs. You will contribute to maintaining a professional and positive learning environment, helping all learners achieve their personal goals and progress to the next stage of their career or education.
You will also play a key role in supporting the wider department, including participating in programme and team meetings, supporting moderation and sampling activities, helping to develop our college restaurant provision and contributing to departmental development sessions. This is a rewarding position for someone passionate about the catering industry and committed to sharing that expertise with the next generation of professionals.
About You
You will bring strong industry experience and a genuine desire to help learners succeed. With a minimum of three years’ experience in the catering and hospitality industry, you will have a solid understanding of professional cookery, food preparation and hospitality standards. You should be confident delivering practical demonstrations, assessing learner competency and providing constructive feedback.
You will be a positive and motivated team player, able to communicate effectively with learners, colleagues and visitors. Strong organisational and IT skills are essential, as is the ability to create a safe and engaging learning environment. You will embrace change, work collaboratively and maintain high standards of professionalism.

Required
•Teaching experience (must be willing to work towards Level 6 PGCE if not already held)
•Minimum of three years’ industry experience in Catering and Hospitality
•GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent Level 2 qualification)
•Level 2 Food Hygiene
•Assessor awards (D32/33 or A1/2) (or willingness to achieve within a specified timescale)
