Join us to apply for the Horticulture Apprentice - Level 2, NATIONAL TRUST role at Guardian Jobs.
Come and join us on a National Trust apprenticeship, where we’ll support and develop you to play an integral part in our work to protect historic sites, tackle climate change, and help people and nature thrive. You don’t need experience for this role, just enthusiasm and a desire to learn.
As a Horticulture Apprentice, you’ll help look after our 224 historic gardens, contributing to conservation and climate change strategies through horticultural maintenance, conservation, and care of the gardens.
This role can lead to an Assistant Gardener or Gardener position, and potentially to a Level 3 Horticulture Supervisor apprenticeship after gaining experience.
What It's Like To Work Here
Our gardens are heritage sites with extensive plant collections. You’ll be part of a team caring for these gardens, which are visited by many members and visitors.
Your training will include mandatory college blocks, online learning, and opportunities to travel to other National Trust locations. All expenses and travel are paid.
At Quarry Bank in Cheshire, you’ll experience 18th-century landscapes, Victorian gardens, orchards, meadows, and more, working on meadow and lawn care, planting, propagation, orchard management, and landscape development.
What You'll Be Doing
Working with your mentor on specific tasks, developing skills and knowledge relevant to this apprenticeship. You’ll attend review meetings, complete e-learning, courses, and training.
