Trainee Machine Operator – TEMP TO PERM
Location: Headcorn
Working Hours: rotating shift (Monday to Friday)
Week 1: 7am – 3pm
Week 2: 3pm – 11pm
Salary: £13.00 per hour PAYE
Trainee Machine Operator Job Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Trainee Warehouse Operative to join food production team. The successful candidate will be trained to operate and set up packing machinery, ensure food hygiene standards are followed at all times, and support different departments as required. This is a hands-on role that requires attention to detail, good communication skills, and a proactive attitude.
Trainee Machine Operator Key Responsibilities:
1. Set up, operate, and monitor food packing machinery in line with training and company procedures.
2. Complete daily paperwork and production records accurately.
3. Follow food hygiene, safety, and quality standards at all times.
4. Carry out cleaning and maintenance of machinery and work areas as instructed.
5. Work flexibly across different departments as required (e.g., packing, warehouse, production).
6. Report any issues with equipment or processes to supervisors promptly.
7. Support colleagues and contribute to a safe, efficient, and positive working environment.
Trainee Machine Operator Requirements:
8. Good level of spoken and written English (essential for paperwork and communication).
9. Basic knowledge of food hygiene and willingness to undertake further training.
10. Ability to follow instructions and standard operating procedures.
11. Flexible attitude and willingness to work across different departments.
12. Good attention to detail and ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness.
13. Reliable, punctual, and eager to learn.
14. Needs to be able to work in cold environments ( 4-6 degrees).
Desirable (Training Provided if Needed)
15. Previous experience in a food production or packing environment.
16. Experience operating machinery.
17. Understanding of health & safety in a food handling environment.
