Job Title: Lead Software Engineer - Azure/.Net
Contract Type: Permanent
Working style: Hybrid 50% home/office based
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Software Engineer to join our dynamic team at Royal London. In this role, you will play a crucial role in providing deep technical expertise to help our teams design, develop, test, implement, and support efficient solutions that meet business and customer requirements.
The successful candidate will have a real impact on how Royal London develops our applications and will provide a blend of both solid leadership experience and technical expertise.
This role is focused within our Protection Application stack and contributes to our purpose of strengthening the mutual choice for our customers by providing the best technology solutions.
About the role
* Lead the delivery of complex technical solutions within your area of expertise, managing your own workload and guiding developers in the team.
* Provide technical advice and guidance to other software developers, proactively and reactively.
* Ensure all code meets Group standards, guidelines, and quality gates for the specified technology.
* Ensure technical solutions are safely implemented into production environments without impacting customers.
* Promote close collaboration within the team and with other disciplines.
* Actively participate in knowledge transfer and experience sharing related to your technical expertise at the practice level.
About you
* Experience with Azure Cloud technologies is essential.
* Proficiency with .Net is required.
* Enterprise experience across the full software development lifecycle.
* Deep technical knowledge of one or more programming languages.
* Strong understanding of design principles and patterns.
* Ability to manage your workload and delegate tasks to other developers.
* A growth mindset with leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills.
* Excellent communication skills at all organizational levels.
* Good understanding of the software development lifecycle and agile practices.
