The government has accepted the moral responsibility to compensate those affected by the infected blood scandal, as highlighted by the Infected Blood Inquiry (IBI). The Infected Blood Compensation Authority will ensure payments are made to those infected with HIV, Hepatitis B or C, and their loved ones, addressing previous delays and frustrations.
This is an opportunity to help shape the organization and develop the compensation service, working with operations and data teams in a multi-functional environment. You will need to adapt to uncertainty, be innovative, resilient, and detail-oriented.
Our goal is to deliver justice and excellent service for claimants, placing them at the center of our efforts.
As a Claim Support Officer, your main responsibilities will include:
* Managing an allocated caseload to ensure high-quality work;
* Gathering and reviewing evidence to support claim managers, compiling claim files, and working efficiently while maintaining quality standards;
* Communicating professionally with external individuals via multiple channels to build trust;
* Working within tight deadlines and adapting to service user and IBCA employee requests to meet shared goals;
* Supporting claim re-examinations and preparing cases for court or tribunal appeals;
* Reviewing, searching, retrieving, and transferring documents in compliance with standards;
* Demonstrating competent computer skills, including navigating document management systems and reviewing large information volumes;
* Managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with accuracy and adaptability under pressure.
