If you are a recent graduate or an industry expert and interested in a career in teaching, Herefordshire, Ludlow and North Shropshire College (HLNSC) is offering an exciting opportunity for you to join our Graduate/Industry Expert Scheme, designed to support individuals to train, teach and build a long term career within further education. You do not need a teaching qualification – we will support you to gain one as part of the role.
1. Up to six positions available
2. Full-time, fixed term 22 months
3. Salary: £29,367
Your week will typically include:
4. Teaching a half timetable in year 1, and 0.75 timetable in year 2, delivering your subject specialism.
5. Dedicated training time to complete the Level 5 Learning & Skills Teacher Apprenticeship (funded by the college).
6. Industry or sector engagement time to maintain subject and vocational currency.
7. Pastoral and academic coaching on 1:1 or small group basis.
You will be fully supported by experienced teaching and learning mentors, and curriculum leaders as you develop your confidence, skills and professional practice.

We welcome applications from candidates who:
14. Are graduating this year or have recently graduated with a relevant degree (2:1 or above, achieved or predicted) or with industry experience
15. Ideally have GCSE English and Mathematics (Grade 4/C or above) or equivalent
16. Are enthusiastic about teaching and supporting learners
17. Are committed to professional development and reflective practice
This is a rewarding opportunity to work in a successful further education college, supporting students to realise their potential while contributing to improved outcomes and progression. The post may require some flexibility, including occasional evening and weekend working.
