The Senior Civil Engineer Position
1. Undertake civil design on a wide variety of civil and structural engineering projects within the commercial, residential, industrial, healthcare and education sectors on projects up to £40 million in value
Key Attributes and Skills
2. Have a suitable civil engineering qualification with a minimum of 6 years’ experience
3. Have experience in the design of below ground foul and surface water drainage systems
4. Be capable of managing deadlines and organising your own work
5. Be capable of overseeing the technical work undertaken by graduate and project civil engineers and assist in their training
6. Use your initiative and work well as part of a team
7. Be competent in producing drawings in AutoCAD
8. Be capable of liaising confidently with local authority planning departments and lead local flood authorities
9. Be confident in representing the company at meetings with clients, consultants and contractors
10. Be able to write full detailed drainage strategies and verification reports
11. Have an in-depth knowledge of SuDS and flood risk assessments
12. Be familiar with the MicroDrainage and/or the InfoDrainage software packages
13. Ideally have knowledge of 3D civil design software
14. Be familiar with highways design and how it interacts with drainage design
15. Hold a full UK driving licence and have your own transport
