Description
Commercial Brokers and Account Handlers seeking a new challenge and a slight change of direction in their career should look no further than this exciting Commercial Manager / Operations Lead role.
Joining the Management Team of this friendly and supportive broker, this is a superb opportunity to have a meaningful say in future direction of one of Leeds’ fastest growing insurance businesses.
This is a newly-created position, so the finer points of the position can be tweaked to suit your skills, experiences and ambitions, but it is likely that your duties and responsibilities will include:
• Personally account handling a smaller portfolio of mid corporate accounts from a range of industry sectors, with premium spends typically between £25,000 - £100,000.
• Assisting the MD in performance reviews, recruitment interviews and all HR matters.
• Taking accurate minutes in board meetings.
• Ensuring colleagues’ work is carried out in a fashion that complies with FCA regulations and Head Office quality procedures.
• Ensuring all debt is collected within Group guidelines.
• Managing relations with a variety of stakeholders, both internal and external.
• Overseeing office-wide training and development, including ensuring all colleagues’ CPD is up to date and managing relations with the local CII & BIBA.
• Acting as a conduit between Head Office, the Leeds branch and other areas of the Group, ensuring a seamless service offering across the board.
• Promoting a culture of cross and up-selling of ancillary products and services, ensuring colleagues remain alert to opportunities and grow accounts, where suitable.
• Being involved in a wide variety of exciting projects.
This role doesn’t have direct reports, but you will be a senior member of the team, and responsible for the smooth running of the office in colleagues’ absences, and also help with ad-hoc queries.
This broker is enjoying a sustained period of growth, both nationally and locally, so this role provides a myriad of opportunities for progression and development (into managerial, specialist and client-facing roles, for example) in the short, medium and long-term.
You will also benefit from a generous basic salary (anticipated to be between £45,000 - £50,000) and a comprehensive benefits package.
Here, you will be welcome to work from home several days per week. This broker is based from fantastic offices in the city centre, close to the train station, main arterial routes and of course all the shops, bars and amenities.
