Job Description:
The Mechanical Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and supporting the mechanical installation of photovoltaic (PV) trackers, fixed tilt, floating, and special structures (carports) on a large-scale solar project. The role involves ensuring work is executed according to the manufacturer’s installation manual, project specifications, and safety standards. Close collaboration with the site manager, subcontractors, and other stakeholders is essential.
Key Tasks
* Oversee material delivery from suppliers
* Monitor installation works, including piling, upper structure, module installation, and cable dressing
* Coordinate with engineering and surveyor stakeholders
* Supervise mechanical works and monitor lifting activities
* Ensure quality inspections of materials (gravel, concrete, steel, etc.)
* Comply with building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards
* Conduct inspections and maintain documentation
* Maintain the quality management system
* Support weekly and monthly progress reporting
* Report delays and breaches
Requirements
* Technical education in Construction or Mechanical Engineering
* 1-3 years of experience in construction, preferably in PV, but wind, gas, and oil sectors are also suitable
* Strong expertise in construction
* Proficiency in MS Office
* Excellent communication skills in English; knowledge of German, Spanish, French, Italian, or Dutch is a plus
* Ability to manage multiple technical tasks and stakeholders
* Familiarity with solar project construction and logistics
* Technical understanding of solar PV systems
* Willingness to travel up to 99%
