Job Title: Assembly Technician
Location: Reading
Job Type: Full-Time, Temporary (3 Month Contract)
Hours: 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday
Pay Rate: £12.80 to £14.80 per hour dependent on Experience
The Role:
In this role, you'll be at the heart of our production process, meticulously assembling complex computer systems and sub-assemblies. You'll follow engineering specifications, uphold quality standards, and meet production schedules. Your keen eye for detail and technical skills will be essential in delivering top-notch, reliable products that our customers rely on.

Key Information:
* Immediate start
* Must be available to work for the full 3-month contract Monday to Friday
* You will need to have previous experience in a similar role
Requirements:
* Perform intricate electro-mechanical assembly of computer systems,
* including but not limited to circuit boards, chassis, power supplies, and
* * Interpret and follow detailed assembly instructions, engineering drawings,
* wiring diagrams, and Bill of Materials (BOMs).
* Utilise hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to assemble
* components accurately and efficiently.
* Solder and crimp electrical connections according to industry standards and
* best practices.
* Install and configure operating systems and basic software applications as
* * Conduct in-process quality checks and inspections to identify and resolve
* any assembly defects.
* Troubleshoot basic hardware and software issues during the assembly
* * Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety regulations
* and procedures.
* Accurately document assembly processes, including any deviations or nonconformances
* using applicable ERP/MRP and JIRA applications.
* Collaborate effectively with other team members, including engineers, quality
* assurance personnel, and production colleagues.
* Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance assembly
* processes and efficiency.
* Handle and transport sensitive electronic components with care and
* adherence to electrostatic discharge (ESD) prevention measures.
* Ensure timely completion of assigned tasks to meet production deadlines.
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards
* Ability to work independently and part of a team
* Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
* Understanding of cleaning techniques and use of cleaning equipment
Education/Experience
* IPC-A-610 and/or J-STD-001 certification
* Experience with the assembly of ruggedized or high-reliability electronic systems
* Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and practices.
* Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
* Formal vocational training or certification in electronics assembly or a related
field.
