To manage company policies for self-employed delivery contractor management. Through compliance develop and implement new systems and procedures to benefit the business and protect the delivery contractor model, valued at £43 million for Smiths News. Manage approximately 690 self-employed delivery contractors and 1,050 delivery rounds across 36 locations.
* Centrally manage, engage, and onboard Delivery Service Providers effectively.
* Implement robust controls for onboarding documents to mitigate risk exposure.
* Manage all aspects of delivery contractor processes from end to end.
* Collaborate with third parties associated with contractors to represent Smiths News at a high level.
* Address internal risks and issues promptly, escalating when necessary to maintain delivery momentum.
* Provide strategic direction at senior level for the ongoing success of Smiths News contractor model.
* Develop and review Smiths News contractor model contract to ensure compliance with legislative changes.
* Communicate and present contract and contractor compliance requirements to stakeholders.
* Monitor contracts and manage close-out, extension, or renewal as needed.
* Cultivate relationships with suppliers, customers, and governing bodies.
* Resolve contract-related issues efficiently and effectively.
* Develop and present project proposals for contractor management systems.
* Continuously improve processes and procedures for contractor compliance

* Previous Experience: Utilize your expertise in self-employed driver management and recruitment to attract, onboard, and retain top talent within our driver network.
* Recruitment Strategy: Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to meet the ongoing demands of our business while managing costs effectively.
* Nationwide Travel: Regular travel to various locations nationwide will be essential to engage with depot and regional management teams, ensuring alignment with company objectives and fostering a collaborative working environment.
* Presentation Skills: Demonstrate confidence in delivering presentations at senior managers meetings, including executive-level audiences, to provide updates on recruitment initiatives, performance metrics, and strategic plans.
* Reporting and Updates: Prepare comprehensive reports and updates to be shared with internal stakeholders, including Risk Management, Audit, Operational Excellence, and Executive Leadership Team, providing insights into recruitment trends, performance KPIs, and risk mitigation strategies.
* Flexibility: Maintain a flexible approach to working hours, including occasional night shifts, to accommodate the dynamic nature of our industry and meet business demands effectively.
