About the role

Then North Northamptonshire Council has a great opportunity for you to join us as our Safer Communities (Operations) Manager within the Stronger & Safer Communities Service. The Safer Communities Team works to enhance residents' safety and well-being by addressing issues like anti-social behaviour and crime to help make North Northamptonshire a safer place to live, work and visit.

What will you be doing?

This role is the lead for will be the lead for the operational arrangements relating to community safety including discharging statutory powers in relation to investigation, case management and enforcement of anti-social behaviour and hate crime and managing the provision of CCTV in North Northamptonshire. As the Stronger Communities (Partnership) Manager you will supervise, manage and develop employees within the team, ensure training and regular supervision take place, performance monitoring and managing sickness absence.

About you

As the successful candidate, you will bring:

1. extensive knowledge of the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014, Police and Criminal Evidence Act and the statutory guidance frameworks
2. in depth knowledge of the statutory powers, duties and guidance frameworks relating to community safety: domestic abuse, serious violence reduction, Prevent and anti-social behaviour.
3. experience of preparing and reviewing evidential material and preparing case files for prosecution
4. excellent organisational skills
5. experience of working with a variety of stakeholders, colleagues and members of the public
6. experience of working to challenging targets
7. outstanding communication skills, both written and oral
8. possess an abundance of drive and determination

It would also be nice for you to have:

9. experience of managing conflict through diplomacy and negotiation
10. presenting evidence in court proceedings
11. Level 4 in leadership or equivalent

Special features of the post

12. This post requires satisfactory clearance of a Disclosure and Barring Service disclosure.
13. Vetting clearance through Northants Police.

Where you will be working:

The team is currently based in various locations in North Northamptonshire, your main office base will be in Kettering, but the Council has a flexible working policy and supports hybrid working. The ability to travel across Northamptonshire is essential to this post. There may also be occasions where you will be required to work outside of normal office hours.
