Ashtead Technology is seeking a proactive HR Advisor to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is a varied and rewarding role, partnering with managers and supporting our people by providing expert advice on employee relations, performance management, recruitment, and HR best practices. In doing so, the HR Advisor will support the achievement of business and people objectives within the Group through professional, commercial and pragmatic HR advice and support. What you'll be doing: Acting as a trusted first point of contact for managers and employees, providing practical HR advice on policies, procedures, and terms and conditions of employment. Supporting the full employee journey, from onboarding new starters to managing offboarding, absence, absence management, and return-to-work processes. Keeping HR systems, contracts, employee records, and case management up to date, ensuring accuracy and a smooth experience for everyone involved. Partnering with the HR director and wider HR team to prepare, implement, and embed the people strategy. Collaborating with Finance and outsourced providers to deliver an accurate and efficient payroll service. Supporting employee relations and investigation processes by providing HR and administrative support to internal and external investigating officers. Helping to review, update, and implement HR policies, procedures, and business-wide HR projects in line with best practice and employment legislation. Coordinating people data and reports to support monthly board reporting and informed decision-making. Ensure legal compliance across all HR activities, including, but not limited to, Policies and Procedures, and drive a robust people service within the business. What experience you'll bring: A proven track record in an HR generalist or advisory role, preferably within the energy sector. International HR experience would be advantageous. Project management experience and ability to fully deliver projects while influencing senior stakeholders. Hands-on experience within employee relations and performance management. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to persuade, influence and coach. Adaptable and resilient in a fast-paced environment with high level of integrity and professionalism. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
