An opportunity has arisen for a qualified Interpersonal Therapist Band 6 to join the Lincolnshire Talking Therapies service based in Louth & Skegness, with potential to cover alternative bases to meet service need. The service provides evidence-based interventions within a stepped care model, treating people with mild to moderate common mental health problems. This is a role in a major national service impacting how psychological treatments are provided.

Role details
* Band: Band 6
* Salary: £38,682 to £46,580 per annum
* Contract: Permanent
* Working pattern: Full-time, Flexible working

Main duties
* Accept referrals via agreed protocols within the service.
* Formulate, implement and evaluate therapy programmes for clients.
* Adhere to an agreed activity contract relating to client contacts and clinical sessions per week to minimise waiting times and ensure accessible treatment.
* Attend meetings relating to referrals or clients in treatment, where appropriate.
* Complete data collection requirements and keep coherent records in line with service protocols.
* Work with the team to maintain a stepped care approach with appropriate step-up and step-down arrangements.
* Undertake psychological assessments including problem identification, risk assessment and goals for therapy.
* Attend CPD and mandatory training; provide supervision for IPT staff as required; attend clinical supervision.
* Maintain standards of practice with reference to relevant bodies (eg BPS, UKCP) and follow recommendations/guidelines (eg IAPT, NICE).
* Protect client confidentiality at all times and stay up to date with advances in IPT.
* Identify and review professional objectives with senior therapists as part of CPD; participate in supervision and performance reviews.
* Attend relevant conferences/workshops; contribute to best practice development within the service.
* Maintain knowledge of legislation, policies and procedures; uphold health and safety responsibilities; protect information in line with Data Protection Act and policies.

Qualifications and experience
Essential
* Mental health qualification (Registered Nurse, Social Worker, Occupational Therapist, Counsellor, Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner) or equivalent.
* Completion of accredited IPT course.
Desirable
* Training in supervision.
* Experience of working in Primary Care services and with common mental health problems.
* Experience in a service with agreed targets and demonstrated clinical outcomes. Desirable: research experience.
Skills
* Advanced interpersonal and written communication skills; good analytical and judgmental abilities.
* Excellent organisational skills; able to work autonomously and manage a caseload and administration.
* Ability to undertake psychological assessments and identify goals for therapy; decision-making on referral suitability; ability to deliver IPT interventions in line with NICE guidelines.
* Ability to deliver group or individual interventions; knowledge of relevant policies; understanding of current approaches and NICE guidelines; commitment to evidence-based psychological therapies.
* IT skills are desirable.
