Woking & Sam Beare Hospice is pleased to announce the following position:

Therapy Assistant

We are a patient-centred charity providing palliative and end-of-life care to individuals with advanced, life-limiting illnesses in Northwest Surrey. We support patients, families, and carers both in the community and within our In-Patient Unit and Well Being Centre.

You will join a dedicated team of professionals making a real difference in the Surrey community.

Clinical Colleague

A successful Therapy Assistant will be able to:

* Support the therapy team by providing walking aids and equipment to patients assessed by qualified staff (Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists).
* Conduct follow-up visits to assist with rehab programmes and interventions as advised by senior therapists.
* Work flexibly within the therapy and wider hospice teams across community, inpatient, and Wellbeing services.
* Communicate effectively with patients, relatives, and the multidisciplinary team.
* Assist with administrative duties such as data collection, referrals, equipment ordering, and maintenance.

A successful candidate will have:

* Experience in a healthcare setting, inpatient or community.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Good computer literacy, especially MS Office.
* Willingness to learn and complete therapy assistant competencies.
* Experience working within a multidisciplinary team.
* Empathy towards terminally ill patients.
* Full driving license, insurance, access to a vehicle, and ability to carry small equipment.
* Disclosure and Barring Service Check.

This role is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975, requiring a DBS check for previous convictions.
