Senior Support Worker Location: Basildon, Essex Rate: £14.03 per hour £78.30 per sleep-in Permanent | Full-time | 37.5 hours per week (rota-based) Please note: We are unable to consider Skilled Worker or Student Visa applicants for this role ‘Extraordinary Days, Every Day’ At CareTech, we are committed to delivering Extraordinary Days, Every Day through high-quality, person-centred care. We are recruiting a Senior Support Worker to join our service in Basildon, supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism, and mental health needs. About the Service – Ashview Ashview House is a 11 bed residential service providing support for Adults with Learning Disability, Physical disability, Epilepsy and Adults on the Spectrum. Person centred care is very important to us at Ashview House. As a team, we focus on the abilities of the people we support and promote learning of new skills, thereby promoting independence and an improved quality of life. We have an open culture where staff feel safe to challenge bad practise, learn from mistakes, share knowledge and lessons learnt. The people we support are involved in the day-to-day running of their home. Service User Interests The people we support enjoy a wide range of activities, and Senior Support Workers play a vital role in enabling these experiences, including: Swimming Buccia games Bowling Meals out in restaurant of choice Holidays at least one per year Shopping Cinema Bus ride or walks Winter wonderland ….and lots more The Role • Lead and supervise a team of Support Workers, providing guidance, role‑modelling, and day‑to‑day direction. • Deliver and oversee high‑quality, person‑centred support, ensuring support plans are followed, reviewed, and updated. • Coordinate and participate in meaningful activities, appointments, and community engagement for the people we support. • Maintain high standards of record‑keeping, completing documentation, incident reports, and reviews professionally. • Participate in the Senior On‑Call rota, responding to staff queries, incidents, and operational needs as required.
