We are representing a client who is seeking a passionate and sales-focused Business Developer to join their team as a Sales Director. This is not an account management role; they need someone with a genuine passion for new business development. The successful candidate will be responsible for generating significant new business, developing a robust sales pipeline, and driving substantial profit into the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
1. New Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities to achieve and exceed sales targets.
2. Sales Pipeline Management: Develop and maintain a strong sales pipeline, ensuring a steady flow of new business.
3. Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively with all departments to ensure detailed and accurate briefs are provided to the team.
4. Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions.
5. Strategic Planning: Develop and implement sales strategies that align with the company's goals and objectives.
6. Market Analysis: Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends and opportunities within the print/graphics industry.
7. Sales Reporting: Prepare regular sales reports and forecasts for senior management, providing insights into sales performance and market conditions.
8. Budget Management: Oversee the sales budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources to maximise ROI.
9. Training and Development: Mentor and train junior sales staff, fostering a high-performance sales culture within the team.
10. Negotiation: Negotiate contracts and agreements with clients, ensuring favourable terms and conditions that meet company objectives.
11. Compliance: Ensure all sales activities comply with industry regulations and company policies.
Requirements:
* Proven track record in new business development with a focus on sales, not account management.
* Ability to generate at least 10x the salary offered, with a high-end salary of £40,000 - £50,000 based on experience and performance.
* Excellent communication skills, able to convey information clearly and appropriately across all departments.
* Commutable distance for 1-2 office days per week is essential.
* Passion for the print/graphics industry or similar, with demonstrable pride in the product.
* Comfortable selling both large projects and smaller deals.
* Strong strategic thinking and planning abilities.
* Proficient in market analysis and sales reporting.
* Experience in budget management and negotiation.
