An exciting opportunity has arisen for experienced and motivated Band 7 Clinical Leads to join our Neighbourhood Mental Health Team within the West Birmingham Primary Care Networks (PCNs).

We are seeking enthusiastic, dynamic clinicians who thrive in a multi‑disciplinary environment and are committed to delivering high‑quality, person‑centred care. You will work closely with a range of professionals, including GP colleagues within PCNs, to support improved outcomes for individuals across the local communities we serve.

Our community mental health services are well established, and as part of the BSOL Community Transformation Programme, we are expanding our neighbourhood teams to strengthen our presence within primary care. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to national developments in community mental health and to play a key role in shaping innovative, integrated models of care.

The continued development of our Neighbourhood Mental Health Team is central to delivering the ambitions of the NHS Long Term Plan, and we are committed to evolving our services to meet the needs of our population.


Main duties of the job

You will be responsible for providing mental health triage, assessment and outcomes‑based Intervention for service users within the Neighbourhood mental health team.

You will be responsible for identifying need and best course of advice, support or intervention.

You will be responsible for promoting psychosocial wellbeing by identifying and then supporting pathways for service users and carers.

Crucial to this role will be your ability to ensure robust communication across FTB/BSMHFT and primary care in accordance with each individual service users’ needs by providing support and advice to all colleagues with the PCN as required including participation within the local neighbourhood MDTs and those working in the voluntary sector.

The Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. As part of our safe recruitment practice pre‑employment checks will be undertaken before any appointment is confirmed. As part of the selection process you may be required to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, however all cases of criminal record history are dealt with on a case‑by‑case basis.

Please note, if applicable for your role you will be required to cover the cost of your DBS certificate. This will be deducted from your salary over 3 months. You will also be required to sign up to the DBS Update Service before commencement with the Trust. The Trust will reimburse this. You will be contractually obliged to maintain your subscription.

All successful applicants will be required to complete the Trust’s induction programme. The Fundamental (Statutory and Mandatory) training will be in an e‑learning format. You will be required to complete training modules online (approx. 9‑14 hours depending on post) by the end of your second week with us.

Relocation expenses may be reimbursed subject to eligibility. The policy provides for reimbursement up to £8,000.
