Reporting to the Logistics Manager and working closely with the transport and operational teams, your main responsibility is to ensure that you provide a professional and courteous delivery/collection service of products and equipment to our diverse customer base as directed, whilst ensuring company standards are maintained and customer expectations are met. Provide full support to your line manager delivering excellent service, ensuring all transport related transactions are completed safely, timely, efficiently, accurately and in line with company policies/procedures/processes and customer requirements to meet the overall objectives of the business.Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver and collect equipment to/from customers, suppliers and other Vp businesses professionally, safely and on time in line with level of competency, to company procedures ensuring company policies and processes are followedEnsure Driver regulations are consistently adhered to under the Driver and Vehicle Standard Agency (DVSA)Conduct a thorough daily defect inspection on the vehicle and record this before any useReport any vehicle defects, or defect symptoms to your line manager that could prevent safe operation of the vehicle before using on the roadClean vehicle weekly and maintain in a good orderEnsure accurate tachograph records are maintained to include driving periods, rest periods, other duties, etc. and are readily available for inspectionEnsure equipment is loaded correctly, safely and securely restrainedEnsure that all chains, straps and securing equipment is maintained and safe for use at all times with all defects to be reported immediatelyHave a positive attitude towards Health, Safety and the Environment reporting any issues to your Line ManagerEnsure equipment is not left in public areas or in a position that could cause a hazard or risk to security.Flexibility to work outside of normal working hoursBe courteous at all times when dealing with customers and the general public and act as an ambassador for the company at all timesGreet Customers with a friendly face and helpful attitude ensuring deliveries/collections are made on schedule in a timely mannerUse of M42 App for delivery/collection schedule and customer signature captureInform customers of estimated time of arrival (ETA)Ability to identify our equipment and advise of losses or damage, prior to customer signing and take confirmation photos where applicableProactively assist with query resolution by taking photos of the load prior to unloading and after loading at our depots, customer sites and suppliersRequirement for sleeping out on a regular basis while delivering or collecting equipment from Groundforce depots, customer sites and suppliersWhen it is considered necessary or appropriate by management you may be required to carry out any other duties considered within your skill and competence to assist the smooth running of the business, i.e. working in the depot assisting with operational duties when your vehicle is off the roadWhat We're Looking ForValid, full & clean driving licenceLGV Class 1 C Licence – Minimum 2 years LGV rigid truck driving experience essential (if applicable)Certificate of Professional Competence (Driver CPC) essentialFlexible approach to working hours is essential – early starts, late finishes, occasional overnight stays and weekend workAble to speak, read & write the English language to a competent levelCompetent maths skillsWillingness to deliver a high level of customer service and display a 'can do' attitudeAbility to complete records, paperwork accurately is essentialCapable of using scanners, PDA's, tablets and computersA reasonable level of fitness is requiredExcellent time keeping skills is essentialWhat We Can Offer YouCompetitive salary42.5 hours per week overtimeCompetitive annual bonus schemeSalary sacrifice pension25days annual leave bank holidaysAdditional holiday purchase schemeFree Tool HireLife Assurance cover 3x salaryShare save schemeEye care vouchersRecommend a friend schemeLearning & Development – commitment to upskilling and developing our people, structured in house training available alongside external training where requiredCycle to work schemeLong service recognitionMy Vp discounts – a variety of discounts and rewards on thousands of well-known brandsA Little Bit About UsGroundforce is the market-leading rental provider of excavation support systems and specialist products for the water, civil engineering, and construction industries.
